I recently downloaded the optin crusher and have a quick question: is there anyway when you click on the message instead of the light box coming up to be directed to a page I created? thanks.
the redirection was the original approach but it gave way to the lightbox, so in he current version you can’t do that. I think that might be a good item to add back in though. I’ll make a note about it.
great thanks.
Hi Daniel, thanks for the great plugin. I have installed it and everything works great with the exception that the text and boxes for the optin are about 80% hidden or pushed below the bottom. I have played with the setting with no avail.
I am using the latest version of Wordpress and of your plugin.
Thanks.
David,
I think it has to do with your image submit button. Either change it to a text button or shrink your image down.
I have the same problem as David. Would love to fix this. Please see onevote.com.au for the symptom. Maybe if it enough people are doing something they shouldn’t be doing, it can be disabled or maybe a big warning box not to tick a box in the setup or something? Hope to hear your fix for this.
Hi Rudy,
Daniel is right. Either you change your image submit button to a text button or shrink your image down. If you insist in using your image submit button as it is, you can add a style for the image submit button.
You can add this style in the image submit button: style=”float: right; margin: -30px 0 0 10px;”
The code should look like this after you’ve included the style:
Just a heads up, if you will add the style, the image submit button will not display correctly on the lightbox.
Hello Daniel,
Just wanted to compliment you on a fine tool. I will be installing it on many of my sites. Any additional pointers you might suggest would be appreciated. Thanks!
Lawrence
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hi Daniel,
I just installed the optincrusher on my blog and just wanted to say thanks very much for giving this away totally free of charge. I know you could easily be selling this amazing plugin so I just want express my appreciation and gratitude.
There are a few free plugins which do the same but nowhere near as good in quality or added features which you have incorporated into yours.
Anyway Daniel thanks again,
Robert
Thanks Robert. I’m glad that you like it!
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for being so generous in sharing out this fine tool for FREE!
I have my own website, http://www.workfromhomemalaysia.biz. Then, I installed Wordpress and found your tool. Can I also have the slide up shown on my main page and other pages rather than just the blog page?
Cheers

Daniel, sweet job. But I can’t find your instructions for customising the image/thumbnail.
Customization tutorial is here: http://optincrusher.com/training/customize-the-optincrusher-to-match-your-brand/
Hi Daniel
Thank you very much for this amazing slide-up. It is hard to find something comparable. After going through all the guidance you gave, I was able to bring it to life. There is only one thing missing and that is the Submit buttom. When I put in the code from my autoresponder CleverReach in the according field below optin details and click on “Process Form” the code for the submit buttom gets taken off and as a matter of that it is not displayed in the optincrusher when it pomps up. What can I do?
Thank you
Andreas
Andreas, it looks like you got it working. Great job.
love this plugin – Thank you so much for providing it free!
i am using it for a couple clients… had no problems at all…
but now, all of a sudden… installing for a new client, and getting no joy.
any suggestions what to look for when it’s NOT working??
i’ve used the identical settings as on the site where it IS working… and they’re both hosted at the same server co (sep. accts) with the same version of WP… different themes tho.
never mind
fixed it…. it was a combination of things, i think – theme was missing hook *(don’t know if that’s necessary for your plugin), and had it set to “no” on view when logged in…
just want to point out, tho… that i have it set to “no” on the other site too, and it still shows up when i’m logged in… ? i dont’ care one way or the other, but some might…
thanks again!
how do i get the HTML form code from my email service provider.
I cant find it anywhere and didnt get anything.. i just need the code so i can start using this..
thanks
You’ll have to ask your email service provider how to generate an optin form. It’s a little different for each one.
Hi Daniel
For some reason I am not getting any of the configuration videos but I got the Customize videos any ideas?
Thanks
Mary
HI Daniel
Not to worry i found the videos that I couldn’t see on YouTube so far they seem easy and clear
Thanks so much for a great plugin and useful tool
I want to collect emails but it is nice not to pi_ _ your visitors off too
Hi Daniel,
Is there a way to configure this so the lightbox pop up can be disabled? I have adsense running on my site and it’s against their TOS to have a lightbox.
Thanks!
Ken
Ken,
It’s not possible to disable. In your case I doubt adsense would have a problem with optincrusher, though I could be wrong. I think it’s forced lightboxes that they don’t like. That’s the whole reason I created this. The only time a lightbox would every show up is if a user clicked for it.
Hi Daniel,
Hey thanks for your response. I really like the look of your plugin. I’ll have to delve in to this deeper to make sure. If I have a problem getting it working for any reason id this where I contact you?
Ken
It’s fine if you ask questions here. You may also want to read through existing comments on this site since many questions have already been answered.
Hi Daniel,
The Remember Show/Hide state selection doesn’t work. I need it not to come back up after someone hides it.
Ken
Ken, you’ll have to double check that the cookie code is there and working.
Hi Daniel,
How would I do that?
ken
The best way is to use a tool like firebug or chrome developer tools and verify that the cookie code is present and the cookie is set. Unfortunately I don’t have bandwidth to help you troubleshoot it further right now.
Daniel,
Quick question. Is there are updated version of this? When I’m looking at the videos vs. what I have installed my general settings have no mention of iphone, etc. I had installed this a while back and I’m reinstalling…how to I get the most updated version? I tried signing up again, but it’s not dispatching the email so I went searching for my old ones.
Thank you!
Mona,
You do have the most current copy. The iphone edition wasn’t working right so I removed that feature. It won’t show up on any mobile devices on purpose.
Great way to get optins, I appreciate you offering it for free. I want to ask, and I see someone asked previously, if I can have viewers be directed to a certain page instead of the Lightbox?
Thank you,
Linda
That’s not an option in the plugin currently, but you can modify the plugin on your site.
Daniel,
All I see in the form down below is the fields for first name, last name and email but there is no ‘submit’ button. Not on the banner below nor on the light box. Is this an issue with my email service provider code? We use Madmimi and I generated a ‘web-form’ to get the html. Like I said it works to show the fields but I don’t see a ‘submit’ button of any kind.
Looks like you got it. Nice work.
hi Daniel;
i have configured my plugin…. but its not showing on my website {wallpapersfunda dot com]
so i need ur help in this regard.
looking forward to ur voice
it does show up on subsequent page loads, but it’s not very useful since the facebook popover nags on every page load. You might want to choose one or the other.
Good luck.
Hello Daniel!
Thanks a lot for the plugin, I´ve been lookinf for something like this for a while now.
I do have one doubt, Is there a way I could change the “First name”, “email and “submit” to spanish?
Thanks, other than that the plugin works as expected
Juan, si, es posible. It doesn’t have anything to do with my plugin though. It has to do with your optin form.
by the way, I clicked through to your site and you have three optin boxes on the one page. I suggest getting rid of the pop-over and optincrusher and go with your video optin format. For your blog content, you can make use of the optincrusher.
Hey Daniel…
I stumbled across OptinCrusher and was blown away by the quality and the fact you’re not charging anything.
I create digital training products — Could not contact you directly as you appear busy (that’s a good thing). I regularly see things that are pathetic in comparison to the quality of OC.
My real email has been left, contact me when you have a free minute.
Talk soon – Andrew
Andrew,
I’m glad you like it. I did put in a lot of time making it just right, and it’s been fantastic on my own sites.
Unfortunately I am swamped right now and not doing any client work or consultation.
Hi I love the plugin and think it could really help with my conversion rate so thank you for offering it as a free download.
I have tried configuring it & have gone through all of the steps however i still cannot see the optincrusher on my footer wether logged in or out. Am i supposed to paste the processed form somewhere on one of my pages?
You don’t have to copy anything in particular, but you can follow the troubleshooter:
http://helpdesk.danielwatrous.com/index.php?/Troubleshooter/Step/View/2
Thanks daniel
i have gone through the troubleshooter & added the code to my footer page that was missing however the option crusher still hasn’t appeared. Iv been able to add this to another of my sites with no difficulty however im really struggling to get it onto my blog which is where it would be of most use to me.
Is there any other reasons this could not be working?
I may not be compatible with your theme. You can use the chrome developer tools to debug further, but you’ll need to know a little bit about javascript. Sorry I can’t give you more help.
I’ve installed and activated the plugin, but when I go to pages, or even the homepage, nothing happens.
Should I assume this is happening because the plugin isn’t compatible with my theme?
I don’t know anything about javascript, so is my only option to uninstall the plugin?
Actually, I normally use Chrome, and when I went to my site from IE and Firefox it worked.
Any idea why I’m having the issue specifically with Chrome?
You probably have it set to not show for admin and you’re logged in with that browser.
Really great stuff Daniel, looking forward to what this plugin brings.
I’m having a similar problem to some of the others; name and email fields stretched and the submit button nowhere to be found.
Please help
Grant, I have found that using Chrome developer tools is a fantastic way to work through display issues. Firebug in firefox is also a great option.
Hi Daniel – don’t know if you got this question from me already…sorry if duplicated…
I’ve successfully installed your great plugin on http://www.dr-concorde-trusted-voice.com. Looks great at the foot of the page. BUT, the layout and spacing of the copy on the lightbox is wrong and I can’t see how to change it. Can you advise me please?
Thanks Daniel…
Lynne,
It looks like you might have H1 tags or something around that text. There may be a style change you can make in my plugin to override line spacing or you could try adjusting the style on your site. Either would help.
Hi Daniel,
I really like this approach and the plugin. Thank you!
Everything is working fine, except it unsuccessfully tries to activate on my mobile theme also, which is Pagelines. Ideas?
Thanks, David
David,
I programmed it to not render on mobile devices. If you’re viewing your mobile version from your desktop, I would expect it to try and render. Try it from a mobile device.
When I downloaded and placed on my blog, it doesn’t show the boxes for the person to insert their name and email.. Also, what is an optin form or the html code? I am a little confused.
toniann, the raw html for the optin form is provided by your email vendor, like aweber or mailchimp. optincrusher simply provides a novel and attractive way of displaying the form to your users.
Great plugin!
Finaly working with your advice’s.
One more thing though.
The fields and text in the popup doenst align propper.
I tried to find out where to make those changes but cnt figure it out.
Can you help me out?
thnks!
Rene, it looks good to me. I guess you figured it out.
